Dress for the Heat

When you operate construction equipment, it's crucial that you wear the required safety gear. Since this often means full-length clothing, focus on finding clothing that's made with hot weather in mind. 

For example:

• Look for light-colored garments since they'll absorb less heat than dark colored ones.
• Pick materials that are breathable and promote ventilation.
• Choose clothes that come with sweat-wicking features.

Choose Work Times Strategically

If you have some flexibility with when you start work, aim for the cooler parts of the day. This will make operating your construction equipment less physically taxing.

Hydrate On a Schedule

It's one thing to know that proper hydration is important. It's another to actually be properly hydrated! 

Remembering to drink water can be difficult, especially as the work day goes on. That's why following a schedule can help.
